General Description

As a result of the popularity of Tomorrow’s Classic, Eva Zeisel received several other commissions from Hall China. In 1956, the firm released Century, a line of tableware available in solid colors with numerous surface patterns. While all of the forms in the line are well-conceived and elegant, the plates are especially noteworthy. Zeisel had previously experimented with square and oval plates, but here she pulled the form into a teardrop shape adding extra visual excitement to the tablescape.
