General Description

This sketchbook is from an edition of 25 sets. Each set consists of a signed facsimile sketchbook numbered A1/25 to A25/25 (the DMA's is A9/25), the catalogue and two etchings with colour aquatint, created by the artist for this part of the edition, signed and numbered 1/25 to 25/25 (ours is 9/25). The set is contained in a Solander box with vellum spine. Ten sets numbered in Roman numerals were reserved for the artist. Alan G. Wokinson, Curator of Modern Sculpture at the Art Gallery of Ontario, Toronto compiled the catalogue and wrote the introductory notes on the West Wind Relief and the Leeds Reclining Figure. The Sketchbook has been reproduced by Daniel Jacomet & Cie, Paris, by their special process. The etchings with aquatint for the edition have been printed by James Collyer and John Crossley, London. The catalogue was printed by the Curwen Press, London. The Solander box was made by Bernard Duval, Paris. The work was published by the Raymond Spencer Company Limited, Much Hadham, Hertfordshire, England.
