Kanbara: Snow at Night
- MAKER:
Artist
Utagawa Hiroshige ( Japanese, 1797 - 1858 )
- DATE:
- 1834
General Description
Executed primarily in shades of black, this print is particularly reminiscent of traditional ink landscape paintings and shares a common flavor with bunjinga, or literati paintings, created in Andō Hiroshige's day. Here, the varied effects of brush-strokes and ink washes are rendered through woodblock print.
