Lenox China ( American, 1906 )
Rockwell Silver Company ( American, 1905 - 1978 )
- c. 1930 (shape introduced 1919)
While this porcelain coffeepot was designed and introduced by Lenox China in 1919, its silver overlay of stylized branches and leaves dates from about 1930. The application of a new silver overlay designs to the surfaces of ceramic and glass objects with traditional shapes was typical of Art Moderne or Art Deco design. Executed by Rockwell Silver Company of Meriden Connecticut, the pattern was aptly named Moderne.
