Walking Wheel

A type of simple spinning wheel, that is, a spindle wheel, in which a spindle is rotated by a drive band passing around the wheel. The size of the apparatus is such that it is operated by a person standing up. The spinner walks backward as the yarn lengthens and then forward as it is wound onto the spindle.
